I cut the burlap garland into 5 to 6 inch "squares"...Doesn't have to be perfect. Mine certainly were not.
Fold in half.
Grab the right corner and place with corners.
Grab left corner and place with corners.
Place onto wreath and pin where the corners meet. I put a couple of pins into each to insure it's security.
