Thanksgiving placemats

I promise that this will be the last burlap project I do for a while. I just love this material so much this time of year because of it's rustic appearance. I saw these on pinterest about a week ago and loved them! You can buy them online, however, I decided I could make them myself. I'm not sure how much burlap i used for this project, however, I just cut out 10 rectangles that were slightly larger than
my store bought placemats. I'm having 9 people over for thanksgiving and so i decided to make 10 placemats to make it an even number.

After you cut out the number of placemats desired, go ahead and start making the finged edges. Just start by pulling one loose thread out at a time until you get your desired amount of fringe. Repeat on all sides.

Now you're ready to do your stencils. Using whatever stencils you like and a permanent black marker, stencil in the words you want. I wrote my words on the lower right corner of each placemat and did 5 "Eat" and 5 "YUM".

Isn't that cute? Wait til you see these placemats with white place settings on top and the flower centerpieces all put together on our Thanksgiving table! I'm so excited. Pictures of the whole thing put together coming soon!
