My very good friend, Greta, has to be the best gift giver I know. She has an unwavering ability to get you just what you want (even if you didn't know you wanted it) and then she packages it with such detail and care. I always feel like I'm getting two gifts in one - the display of the gift and the gift itself! I don't have that eye for detail. When she gets a gift from me, it's generally not even wrapped. Sorry, Greta...this is why I clean your kitchen when I visit...It's the only way I can pay you back for all the wonderful packages!
When I asked Greta to send me some ideas of the things she's doing for Christmas, my inbox was full almost immediately. Show off. It amazes me how fast she comes up with super cute ideas. I struggle just trying to figure out where to put the dollar store bow on a gift - should I do center, top left, top right...? Oh how I feel bad for my gift receivers!
I always love getting magazine subscriptions as a gift. But how in the world do you present it to your gift receiver? Greta does it perfectly. For this gift example, we're going to use Garden Gate because it's without a doubt my favorite magazine and I think hers as well.
Here, she took a fall copy of Garden Gate and photo copied it. Then she simply rolled it up, glued the ends and tied orange (for fall) ribbon around it, then glued on mini pine cones and mini ornate pumpkins. How CUTE! You can do this with any magazine! For instance, photo copy the Christmas edition of Better Homes and Gardens with red ribbon, and glue on holly, pine cones and or snowflakes. How cute would this be sticking out of some one's stocking?
Thanks for the great idea Greta. I hope I'll be getting this for Christmas.....
